Requirements & Standards

ACART is not a casual membership club. We uphold clear standards because public trust matters.

What education do I need?
Applicants must have completed a recognized reflexology training program that includes adequate classroom hours, practical training, anatomy and physiology, and understanding of contraindications and scope of practice.
Do I need insurance?
Yes. Professional members must hold valid Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) and current First Aid/CPR certification. Proof of both is required for active RRT status and registry listing with insurance companies.
What are the Standards of Practice?
ACART's Standards of Practice define the expected level of competence, ethical conduct, and professional behaviour for all members. This includes informed consent, accurate documentation, client-centered care, and honest representation of reflexology services. Members also agree to abide by the ACART Code of Ethics and Bylaws.
What about continuing education?
All professional members are expected to engage in ongoing professional development. ACART provides access to workshops, events, and educational resources to support your growth throughout your career.
When are membership fees due?
Membership renewal fees are due by December 31st each year. A $25 late fee applies after this date. Membership privileges, including your RRT number, will automatically expire if dues are not received by January 31st of the following year.
