Atlantic Canada Association of Reflexology Therapists
Established in 2005, ACART is a professional association dedicated to upholding standards, ethics, and excellence in reflexology practice across Canada.
Mission: To support, represent, and promote certified reflexology therapists through shared standards, continuing education, and ethical practice — while educating the public about the value of qualified reflexology care.
Vision: A Canada where every reflexology practitioner is supported by a professional community committed to competence, integrity, and the advancement of the profession.
ACART began as the Nova Scotia Association of Reflexology Practitioners (NSARP), founded in 2005 by a grassroots group of practitioners who wanted credibility, standards, and connection. By 2016, the profession had grown beyond one province — so NSARP evolved into ACART, serving reflexologists across Atlantic Canada and beyond.
This wasn't just a name change — it was a strategic evolution reflecting the growth and maturity of the profession itself. Today, ACART continues to expand its reach across all of Canada.
These principles guide everything we do — from governance to member support to public advocacy.
We uphold clear standards of practice, ethical conduct, and scope of care to protect both practitioners and the public.
Ongoing learning strengthens practitioner confidence and client safety. We champion continuing education at every level.
Our members commit to responsible practice, transparency, and continuous professional growth in service of their clients.
Reflexologists are stronger together. We foster connection, mentorship, and a collective voice for the profession.
We actively contribute to the credibility and future development of reflexology across Canada.
ACART operates with a clear governance framework that ensures accountability, transparency, and professionalism at every level.
Led by an elected Board including President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, ACART's governance ensures democratic decision-making through Annual General Meetings and structured voting processes.
Every ACART member adheres to a comprehensive Code of Ethics covering client confidentiality, informed consent, professional boundaries, scope of practice, and the commitment to do no harm.
Our Standards of Practice define expectations for clinical competence, documentation, client communication, contraindication awareness, and appropriate referral — ensuring safe, professional care.
